VISION

The goal of the Liberty County Arts Council is to serve the citizens of
Liberty County by promoting the arts and culture in Liberty County.

AUTHORITY

The Liberty County Arts Council was established by the
Board of County Commissioners on February 9, 2003.

STRATEGIC GOALS

The Liberty County Arts Council will:

I. Respond to the artistic needs of the Community.

II. Sponsor cultural events each year which represent the major art disciplines, i.e., music, dance, drama, visual arts.

III. Creat economic opportunities to support on-going cultural programs and projects.

IV. Support the development of a museum of local history and artifacts.

PURPOSES

The purposes of the Arts Council include but are not limited to:

I. Stimulating greater governmental and public awareness and appreciation of the importance of the arts to the people of Liberty County.

II. Encouraging and facilitating greater efficient use of governmental and private resources for the development and support of the arts.

III. Encouraging and facilitating opportunities for Liberty County residents to participage in artistic activities.

IV. Promoting the development of Florida artists, arts institutions, community organizations, sponsoring arts activities and audiences.

ACCOMPLISHMENTS

The Liberty County Arts Council sponsors a number of events that include Puppet Theatre Shows,
The Annual Blue Grass Spring Fling, Local Music and Drama Presentations, Annual Art Shows and Sale,
Northwest Florida Ballet Performances and other local art and drama calendar events.

Events are also sponsored in part by Liberty County Board of Commissioners,
Florida Department of State, Division of Cultural Affairs,The Florida Arts Council
and the National Endowment for the Arts.
